Tennis Elbow

Overuse and Repetitive Elbow Strain

Tennis Elbow is a common term for a condition also known as lateral epicondylitis. It is characterized by pain on the outside (or lateral) part of your elbow. Tennis elbow is mostly an overuse or repetitive strain injury to the muscles and tendons of the forearm.

Tennis elbow is a problem caused by overuse or repetitive strainTennis elbow is not limited to just tennis players, in fact, in our San Jose chiropractic office the majority of patients we treat for tennis elbow are computer workers.
Bad computer ergonomics commonly lead to the development of tennis elbow, as well as many other conditions. Due to how tennis elbow develops into a painful condition, overuse or repetitive strain, it is very unlikely that it will not go away on its own. In fact it usually keeps getting worse, but by now you’re probably beginning to realize that, after all that’s probably what brought you to this page.

In our San Jose chiropractic office we have great success in the treatment of tennis elbow. We use Sound Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (SASTM), ultrasound, electrical muscle stimulation, adjustments of the wrist and/or elbow, and stretching & strengthening exercises to get you out of pain and back out onto the court, or cubicle.
