Trigger Finger

Repetitive Strain Injury

Trigger finger, also known as stenosing tenosynovitis, is a condition in which your finger or your thumb catches in a bent position. Your finger or thumb may have a snapping when you straiten it out. This condition is typically painful.
Trigger finger is often the result of a repetitive strain injury and is becoming more and more common.

Repetive injury Trigger FingerWhat is actually happening is that the tendons and connective tissue associated with finger movement are becoming irritated and inflamed, which causes scar tissue to lay down. This happens long enough then you can develop Trigger Finger.

In our office we use Sound Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (SASTM) and Cold laser therapy to treat our trigger finger patients with an extremely high success rate, many of which would have ended up having surgery otherwise.
