How Safe are Lasers
Cold Laser Theapy is FDA approved
|
The Ml830 cold laser is extremely safe. It has been safely used around the world for over 30 years with great success. The ML830 is classified as a class IIIB laser, meaning that it does not produce heat. Therefor there is no risk of burning any tissue. Not all therapeutic lasers can make this claim. Class IV lasers can also be used in the same manner as the ML830, although they are heat producing lasers, so there is potential for them to cause tissue damage if handled incorrectly. Since this device is a true laser, eye damage is a concern. This is why certain protective eye glasses are worn. Other suggested contraindications would be to avoid exposure to sensitive tissue such as fetus, gonads, or malignancy.

Since the Laser doesn’t generate heat, it is approved for use over metal implants and fractures making it safer than Ultrasound.
